India v New Zealand Highlights, Second Test, Day 3 Updates: India took full control of the ongoing Test in Mumbai as New Zealand lost both their opener and Ross Taylor as they chased down a 540-run challenge on the third day. Tom Latham was the first player. Departed at 6, Will Young was dismissed for 20. All three wickets were taken by R Ashwin. Subsequently, there was a small, diligent partnership between Henry Nichols and Daryl Mitchell that stabilized the New Zealand ship. Shortly after his half-century, Mitchell scored 50 in his second Test. His happiness did not last long as Mitchell hit a wild hawk off Akshar Patel's ball and dismissed Jayant Yadav for 60. The 73-run partnership, a mix between Tom Blundell and Nichols, saw the former player lose his wicket. Rachin Ravindra and Nichols played the remaining overs and did not lose any more wickets. Meanwhile, a superb batting performance helped India reach 276/7 in the second innings and New Zealand dropped a big target in the fourth innings.
