IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants unveil team logo

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise unveiled the side logo ahead of the 2022 mega auction on Monday.

The franchisee said their brand identity draws inspiration from ancient Indian mythology.

"The eagle is a mythical bird - a protector and possessing the power to move fast, which has inspired us to create a team-winged symbol. The eagle is ubiquitous in every Indian culture and subculture," the LSG said in a statement.

The triangular wings of the unit symbolize the Pan-India appeal of the Lucknow Super Giants. The bird's body is emblazoned with a blue bat as a symbol of the game of cricket, and also has a red ball with an orange seam. It's like an auspicious 'Jai Tilak', "he added.

The Lucknow Super Giants said that the whole identity is endowed with strong positive energy to go to higher and higher levels and achieve success.

Lucknow has opted to accompany KL Rahul (Rs 17 crore), Marcus Stoinis (Rs Nine.2 crore) and Ravi Bishnoi (Rs 4 crore) for IPL 2022. KL Rahul will wear the captaincy hat.

Andy Flower has already been appointed as the coach of the Lucknow franchise, while former India batsman Gautam Gambhir will be the mentor of the franchise.
